Film Review: THE LAST BOY SCOUT (1991)

Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans with Danielle Harris looking for some bad guys

The last of the kick ass action flicks from the early 90's. It seems action films today have been watered down and loaded up with too much CGI that make you appeciate films like this one even more. Last Boy Scout has it all: tough guy hero, bloody and violent action scenes, despicable bad guys, some hot babes running around, the sidekick who holds his own, and loads of humor. Bruce is excellent as the burnt out private detective Joe Hallenbeck. He teams up with ex-quarterback Jimmy Dix (Damon Wayans) to solve the murder of Jimmy's girl, a young Halle Berry. This leads to a gambling conspiracy that reaches very far. Bruce and Damon make one of the best teams in action films ever. They rough up bad guys and dispense with one liners galore. They definetly don't make them like this anymore and it makes me quite sad. Thank god for DVD and cable. And in case you wondering, Boy Scout still holds up today. Better than some of the so called action films being made today.

Some facts and trivia about Lucy Lawless

Here are some facts and trivia about Lucy Lawless, my star of the month. Facts provided by IMDB.

Born: Lucille Francis Ryan

Married to producer Robert Tapert since 1998.

First marriage was to Garth Lawless (1988-1995)

Has three children: two sons - Julius and Judah; one daughter - Daisy

 Lucy as Xena

Most known roles: Xena; Battlestar Galactica; Spartacus

Speaks German, French, some Italian.

Is a natural ash blonde before coloring her hair black for the role of "Xena".

Awarded the New Zealand Order Of Merit (NZOM), Queen's Birthday Honours 2004, for services to NZ entertainment and the community.

Lucy as D'Anna Biers (Battlestar Galactica)

Member of the Starship Foundation board of trustees since 2000. Starship is NZ's main children's hospital.

2006 saw Lucy make her singing debut on the TV Show Celebrity Duets and followed that up with sold out concerts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and London during 2007-2009. She has also performed at various benefits and most recently at the 2009 Planet A Concert in her native New Zealand.

A vocal supporter of gay rights, Lawless is considered something of a gay icon. After the cancellation of Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), Lawless has said she considered her character a lesbian. Since that time the actress has also worked to support equal protections for gay and lesbian couples including protesting Proposition 8, which stripped gay and lesbian couples of the right to wed in California.
 Lucy as Lucretia (Spartacus)

The dwarf planet Eris was originally informally named Xena, with its moon nicknamed Gabrielle (after Xena's sidekick). The official names, Eris and Dysnomia, refer to Greek goddesses associated with lawlessness, another wink to Lucy Lawless.

Introducing the fabulous Jennifer Cooper

Hi everyone..this marks the first time I have ever had a guest on Hero Worship. Well for an interview. Her name is Jennifer Cooper and she is quite awesome. She has appeared on my blog before back in October to help me with my 31 days of Horror. Well she's back, this time with a vengeance. Sounds like a trailer for an action movie doesn't it. So without further delay, take it away Jenn.

If you don't mind, could you fill in my readers on what makes Jennifer who she is.
Haha, some very wonky genetics and warped brain cells! ;) I was always a strange child, I was more into the things that are normally associated with boys. Instead of all the princess crap and everything being pink, I was into dinosaurs, astronomy, archaeology, geology and saving the planet. When I was a kid at school and we had to write stories, mine would always include aliens or people dying in horrific accidents, lol! I guess I always loved horror, and that part of me has just grown and grown as the years have passed by. I am a hard core X Phile, like seriously, Mulder and Scully are the loves of my life, The X Files is such a huge part of who I am. It's the same with Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, I've always been a total nerd for them! It's funny because now my total obsession is Sons of Anarchy, which totally goes in a new direction from my usual sci-fi and alien loves...now I want to be hunting aliens on a Harley, haha.
I've always been into nature, camping and hillwalking. I'm a total eco-warrior and animal rights activist. And I also have a huge fascination with serial killers. I largely prefer the golden age of Hollywood to modern stuff. My partner in crime is my dinosaur Rex, we go everywhere together. I love Beagles however have a scruffy Westie called Hamish who is always coming on adventures with me and Rex. And I love bunnies and have a house bunny called Jonah, after Jonah Hill. He's a fat shit who loves to eat, hence the name. Haha. Although now Jonah Hill has went all freaktardedly skinny, it's not quite the same, lol!

What made you start blogging? -
I used to blog via LiveJournal years ago, that was a total nerd fest, as was my MySpace blogging. It's a great way to share my thoughts on films, TV and all sorts of geekery with my fellow nerds! I started taking it seriously though when I started my Musings of a Morleysaurus blog. I started that after getting really involved with Women in Horror Recognition Month, it was the perfect ways to share my reviews and interviews and nerd thoughts with my fellow peeps!

What are some of your favorite films? Modern and classic? -
Lord of the Rings, Dahmer, The Omen, Jurassic Park, Dawn of the Dead, The Indian Runner, Requiem for a Dream, The Goonies, The 'burbs, Arsenic and Old Lace, Psycho, Heat, His Girl Friday, Love Comes to the Executioner, Shadow of a Doubt, The Birds, Dead Hooker in a Trunk, House of the Devil, Hatchet 2, Superbad, Saw, Insidious, Spellbound, Notorious, Rear Window, Tombstone, Cape Fear, May, The Commune, The Town, I Spit on Your Grave (original of course!), Stigmata, Ed Wood, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, A History of Violence, Hackers, Mulholland Drive, The Elephant Man, I Sell the Dead, American Psycho, Eastern Promises, Frankenhooker, Friday the 13th (all of them, haha), Halloween, Toy Story 1, 2 and 3, The Care Bears Movie, Underdog, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and Paul. To name just a few, haha.

Describe your first movie-going experience. Like where, how old, with who, etc... -
I think it was Bambi when I was 3 or 4, and I'm sure my Granny was with me. This was back when my town actually had a cinema! I remember also going to see the Care Bears Movie and the My Little Pony movie. I'd go with my friend and neighbour Rhiona quite a lot, and my sisters! One of my earliest and highly entertaining movie experiences with my sisters however was when we went to see The Witches! Lol, this is a perfect example of how evil my sister Cat and I were to our younger sister Susan, haha. Susan was sat in the middle of us and was really scared and wanted to leave, and we wouldn't let her, hahaha. She has still to this day never forgiven us for it! ;)

What is your favorite film genre? -
Horror. No question about it! Whenever I go to the video store, or rent movies from LoveFilm or am in a store looking at DVD's, I instantly go to the horror section before anything else!

Who are some of your favorite actors/actresses? -
Ooooh, wow okay for once, I don't seem like a total freak for listing my favourite classic movie actors and then modern, haha. Okay so modern, my favourite actors include Jeremy Renner, Viggo Mortensen, Dominic Monaghan, Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Joaquin Phoenix, River Phoenix, Cillian Murphy, Emile Hirsche, Sean Penn, Jared Leto, Mickey Rourke, Ken Foree, A.J. Bowen, Brad Renfro, Nick Stahl, Devon Sawa, Chad Donella, Tom Noonan, Larry Fessenden, Timothy Olyphant, Sam Neill, R.A. Mihaloff, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edward Furlong. And obviously as the most hard corest of X Philes David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are waaaay top of my list...but that just goes without saying, haha. Actresses include Kate Winslet, Patricia Arquette, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, Erica Leehrsen, Claire Danes, Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Shawnee Smith, Thora Birch, Greta Gerwig, Lin Shaye, Camille Keaton, Sheri Moon Zombie. Classic actors – Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Jimmy Stewart, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, . Actresses – Grace Kelly, Joan Fontaine, Patricia Wright, Ingrid Bergman, Katherine Hepburn and Tallulah Bankhead.

What films upon first viewing did you not like, then later on when re-watching them,
loved the hell out of them. -
A recent addition to this list is All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. The first time I saw this film, after so long waiting to see it, totally geeking out over the film...and then I watched it and I fucking hated it. I didn't get why all the boys “loved” Mandy Lane. In fact, even now, I still don't really get why? Surely not putting out can't be a reason for instant obsession...I dunno, it's just weird. Anyhoo, last year after reading a blog that John Squires of Freddy in Space did about his love for the movie, I decided to give it another shot! I mean, when I first saw it, trust me, I let everyone know how shit I thought it was. I guess in watching it again I partially wanted to reiterate that statement, haha...but at the same time I thought, fuck it, I'm gonna watch it...away from the original hype I had around it, and then make up my mind. I'm glad I did. I don't like admitting to being wrong, haha, but on this case I was totally way off target! The first time I saw it, even though I basically hated on most of the film, I did say that the last 10 minutes or so were totally badass and that I was a fan of that, just not the rest of the film. Visually I think it's gorgeous and despite the fact that I dislike half of the douchebag teenagers, the film is well acted, wonderfully directed and at the end of the day it's just a good film!

What are some of your favorite film quotes? -
Now look, you wait right here. Make yourself comfortable, pull up a tombstone!” “Look I probably should have told you this before, but you see, insanity runs in my family...it practically gallops!” Heehee, both Cary Grant from Arsenic and Old Lace obviously!
Let me see, let me look, is it rotten and covered with gook!” - Jack Skellington – The Nightmare Before Christmas
I am also incredibly partial to Mulder's line of “Come on Scully, get those little legs moving!” Haha. I frequently say it to my dog Hamish, lol!
I missed, I never miss. They must have been smaller than I thought!” Steven Seagal – Hard to Kill Haha. I can pretty much quote this whole film, I do love me some Seagal!

Me: Great mix of quotes Jenn!

What classic films that are widely loved, could you care less about?
Okay this is actually a really tough question, I'm gonna have to think about this!
And then my stupid boyfriend mentions the word ROADHOUSE!!! Fucking Roadhouse, is not as he says...GENIUS!!!! I freakin' HATE that movie with a passion! In fact, I feel sick even classing it as a “classic” film...however, if you have a penis, generally the consensus is that it's a “classic”!!!!! The only thing friggin' classic about this stupid film is the Family Guy episode where Peter Griffin, in all his penile glory...keeps saying fucking “ROADHOUSE!!!!” Arrrrrrrgh!!!
Another that Craig mentioned that instantly got given the “classic” label was Black Swan, which in my humble opinion is the worst Aronofsky film! As a hard core Aronofsky fan since waaay before Hollywood started paying attention, I just felt that the film, I dunno...lacked in so much! I think part of my MEH towards it was the fact that I just couldn't really care less about Natalie Portman's character. And that was a real problem for me. The supporting cast was superb, Barbara Hershey and Vincent Cassel are obviously miles ahead of their game as always, but I guess it was Mila Kunis that was the real kick in the face for Portman, not only was her character more likeable, she was also most believable. Now as someone who is all dark, dank and dreary, in a perfectly cast Aronofsky film, I would have genuinely been completely obsessed with the Portman character...but I wasn't. And that irked the fuck out of me! I don't think that it is a quintessentially bad film, but for a director that makes as flawless a films as Aronofsky, it did kinda suck! And I hate the fact that I feel this way about it.

If you threw a movie theme party, describe how you would do it. The costumes, decorations, food, etc... -
Oooooh...Hobbits...lots of Hobbits. And mushrooms. And pipe weed. And beer. Haha. I knows how to rock the Hobbit partaaaay! ;)
I love to throw horror themed nights! There is nothing better than getting all ghouled up and watching some good old horror...whilst drinking and snacking!

Me: Awesome!

Who's the biggest film fanatic that you know? Besides yourself of course. -
Wow, I know a whole lotta film fanatics...all of my fellow Women in Horror of course...you, hell, so many! Of my closest friends though I'm gonna go with is my friend Paul Moxham, or The Mox as I loving refer to him, haha. The Mox and I worked in Vue Cinema in Plymouth, England together. A dorky friendship ensued the very second we met when we both realised how much the other loved The Lord of the Rings! You know you've found your perfect best friend at work when you can work a 12 hour opening day Harry Potter shift and then decide to stay on for an extra 4 hours just because working with that one person is so much ridiculous amounts of fun! Working in the cinema with him were some of the most fun and memorable times I've ever had. I started work there just before The Return of the King came out...I actually got the job there when I found out that cinema workers got to see movies first, haha. As an obsessive Lord of the Rings dork, I instantly applied for a job there and started about a week after! :D Paul was studying film studies whilst working there and is honestly one of the most passionate geeks I have ever encountered in my life! Working with him was always a blast, and we were notoriously joined at the hip whilst doing so! Despite not being a massive horrror fan, at least not of slasher films etc. (he was always more a fan of classic horror and less of the silly, so still A OKAY in my book!), the two of us still had so much in common and appreciated just downright good film! Paul now works for BBC Radio Devon and amongst other things, is their film critic! Monty, you would definitely be a fan of him, he's a total comic book nerd as well and I know for a fact that Syliva Soska would LOOOVE him due to his major love of Spiderman! And in fact, when Jonathan Ross left the BBC as their film critic, I totally wanted The Mox to take his position! He most certainly would have been better than that wretched Claudia Winkleman...you know me, I'm all about the girl power but she is an insult to female kind! She has no idea what she is talking about and is orange! The Mox however is charming, handsome, intelligent and more importantly, he knows what he's talking about and can offer amazing insight and a wonderful knowledge about film! A true film lover if ever you were to meet one! You can listen to his film reviews on BBC Radio Devon as well as check out type reviews at this blog. I totally recommend checking these out! :) And holy fucktard's...as I have been working on this interview I have just found out that The Mox has just sealed himself an interview with Viggo fucking Mortensen, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* I am both super proud of him and super jealous at the same, haha. Although in all fairness, he would definitely be better at keeping his composure and not squeaking like a little girl like I would, haha. Plus, personally I'd rather listen to him interview Viggo, both have voices I could never tire of. And next to Jeremy Renner, Kate Winslet and Dominic Monaghan, this is the most amazing interview that he could possibly get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So yay, please do follow his work, he's amazing and my super favourite rising star!

Describe the perfect way for you to watch a movie.
Oooh, well I am definitely a fan of going to the cinema, however I'm not sure what I'd be like at a cinema in the States, haha. I like peace and quiet whilst watching films...American audiences seem really noisy! Although if it's a bunch of nerds watching a film together and appreciating the awesomeness together, that I can handle! When the 2nd X Files movie, I Want to Believe came out, I went to the premier in London. I went with one of my best friends in the whole wide world, Nia Edwards Behi, another of my biggest film dork friends and X Phile to the bone (we met on an X Files message board about 11 years ago, lol...who says internet dating doesn't work, haha!?!!).

After seeing the movie at the premier, and having Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson introducing the movie, we then watched it again 2 days later at a private showing...a showing to raise money for one of Gillian Anderson's charities. That was a showing of hard core X Philes from around Europe and that was so much fun having fellow Philes to cheer and clap, and cry with! By the end of it I was flicking tears at Nia, lol!

Me: We American audiences can get pretty rowdy, especially when it comes to sci-fi and comic book movies!

Awesome Jennifer! Just awesome! I enjoyed every minute of your interview. To put it mildly, you rock!

REAL STEEL (2011) is for real!

Hugh Jackman toplines this crowd-pleasing drama set in the near future as Charlie Kenton, a struggling boxing promoter of robots. You see in the future robots replaced human as fighters because the audiences were craving more and more. And the human body can only take so much punishment. Well Charlie struggles with trying to win as he is way over his head in debt to everyone. And the people he owe money too don't take rainchecks or IOU's. Add to the mix is Max, Charlie's young son who he hasn't seen since his birth, and is now an orphan, due to his recent passing of his mom.
Father and son sharing a happy moment

So Charlie takes temporary custody of Max (wonderfully played by Dakot Goyo) for a few months until the mom's sister gets back from traveling around the world. During this time, Charlie and Max pulls an ancient robot out of the scrap yard and rebuild to start fighting. The robot is called Atom, and is a relic of the robot fighters. Compared to all the hi-tech new robots fighting now, Charlie doesn't think he will last long. But this little robot, being trained by Max and then Charlie (who was an actual boxer back in his younger days) begins winning fights and grabs the attention of the country and the media. And before you can say Rocky Balboa, the trio ends up getting a title shot match against Zeus, the most feared and undefeated robot in history.
Atom going the distance

I loved this movie. It may be predictable at times but it still feels so fresh and exciting. The fight scenes are awesome and the robots themselves are very realistic. Hugh Jackman delivers a solid performance. And Evangeline Lilly is effective as his long time girlfriend and robot whiz Bailey. But it's Dakota Goyo who steals the movie as Max. Being the one character audiences can get behind. He is just real and into his character, you just smile every time he is on screen.
My new film crush, Evangeline Lilly as Bailey

One of the more surprising films of 2011 and a must see. Another surprise factor is the music score by Danny Elfman. Yep, I said Danny Elfman, the maestro of usually offbeat and dark films, does a really stirring score to this pretty cool movie. As I said in my header, Real Steel is for real.

Kate Beckinsale returns as Selene in the amped up, action-packed, blood soaked Underworld: Awakening

The honor of the first movie of 2012 seen by me in the theaters goes to Underworld: Awakening, the fourth in the epic vampires vs lycans series. And it's awesome. After the previous entry, which was actually a prequel, and no Kate, things get back on track immediately with this new film. Humans finally realize that vampires and werewolves exist and go to extreme measure to eradicate them. Issuing martial law and killing all those who are either vampire or lycan and or infected. Selene (a welcome return by Kate Beckinsale), the vampire death dealer, who used to hunt down lycans in the previous films, is now hunted by humans herself. Along with her hybrid lover Michael, who is part vampire/part lycan. After an exciting fight sequence between Selene and some soldiers, she is captured and Michael is believed to be dead.
Selene wakes up to a strange new world

Flash forward 12 years and this research company called Antigen, who seeks a cure for the infection spread by lycans and vampires, has held Selene in frozen captivity. Once she escapes, in a wicked scene where, armed only with a scalpel takes out half a dozen heavily armed guards. She is the only vampire of her kind, able to walk in daylight and far stronger than any other vampire still left in the world. She immediately begins her search for Michael but ends up a with a surprise...she has a 12 year old daughter named Eve, who also escaped from the same place. Eve is like Michael was..a hybrid.
India Eisley as Eve

Once Selene meets Eve with the help of a vampire named David, the remaining lycans resurface, needing Eve's blood to become immune to silver.
Selene meets David

This all leads to some intense action sequences which shows Selene hasn't lost her edge, not one bit. If anything, she is more lethal than ever. Taking out soldiers, lycans in brutal and quick succession. She doesn't hold back and once her daughter Eve is kidnapped by the lycans to dissect and harvest her body parts and blood..it is on! Mama doesn't like that at all. As she enters Antigen to get her daughter back, lycans be damned. She does have her hands full with one super lycan, who is a beast. More than twice the size of a normal lycan and with uncharted healing abilities. Their battle is one bad ass scene. Eve also has a wicked fight of her own, against the doctor who is doing the experiments on her, who happens to be a lycan himself. He is played by Stephen Rea.
Selene thinks..oh it's so on!

Underworld: Awakening is one awesome movie with really cool fight scenes, a booming music score and the great presence of Kate Beckinsale. Without her, this movie would not work at all. She is perfect as Selene and shows that she can still handle all her own fight scenes and still can squeeze into that unbelievably tight leather outfit without breaking a sweat. I personally think this is the best one yet of the Underworld films and the ending leaves the door open for at least one more. Here's hoping that Kate will return for that one too.

Great car chases on film - THE BOURNE SUPREMACY (2004)

We all know Jason Bourne is a bad ass when it comes to fighting. Just messing bad guys up. But another handy skill Jason has is his wicked driving ability. Check out this awesome chase scene from the second Bourne film where Jason tears up the streets of Moscow in hot pursuit by Karl Urban.

The need for some speed...Great car chases on film: QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008)

After a rough last week at work which saw layoffs of some of my friends and now a bigger workload for me now, I feel the need for some speed. I will post daily scenes of some of the best car chases in film. Similar to what I did last summer when I posted about an action movie a day. Let's start with this nifty chase sequence from 2008's Quantum of Solace, the second Bond film to feature Daniel Craig. There might still be some naysayers about Craig being Bond..for the record I like him, and this is one of the best car chases ever. Bond film or action film period. Bond is being pursued some bad guys in Siena, Italy through a tunnel and on the side of a mountainside. High octane stuff.

I highly recommend WE ARE THE NIGHT (2010)...one rippingly good vampire film

Leave it to Germany to produce one of the best vampire films in recent memory called We Are The Night. A trio of all female vampires live like rock stars in Berlin. Led by the eldest, Louise (a striking and impressive Nina Hoss) who is looking for her soul-mate. One who she will immediately know by the eyes of said soul-mate. The other two vampires are Charlotte (Jennifer Ulrich) a 1920's silent film star who was turned by Louise and who loves to read books and Nora (Anna Fischer) a woman who acts very child like. Check out their opening scene as they are flying back from a Paris shopping spree and kill everyone on board..passengers, stewardesses and even the pilots. So as the jet flies out of control, the women bail from high above the city in one of the wildest pre-credit sequences on film ever.
Louise seducing Lena

Next day, a young thief named Lena (Karoline Herfurth, looking very much like an even grungier Noomi Rapace from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) steals from a Russian pimp and is chased by the police all over the city. Where she meets the good looking detective Tom (Max Riemelt) who then have a cat and mouse relationship the rest of the movie. That night Lena ventures to a secret night club where the trio of vampires are partying and Louise is immediately smitten.
The girls living it up

After a little dancing Louise bites Lena and so begins their courtship. Lena doesn't understand at first and the other two women convince Louise that the newbie has to learn the hard way and accept what she is. So they drop her off at some very bad men's warehouse to be tortured until her need for survival kicks in. And kick in it does as Lena has a very brutal fight scene with one of the bad men. The other girls show up to finish off the others. Especially cool is Charlotte walking on the ceiling upside down with a shotgun.
Nora after a little snack

After this little adventure the girls take Lena back to their place to bathe and clean up. And that's where one of the coolest transformation of a human to vampire takes place. As she emerges from her tub with longer hair and much sexier. And then the fun begins. These girls know how to live. Staying at the swankiest places, each driving their own personal sports car like ferraris and BMW's. Dancing at clubs and for kicks, walking on ceilings like Spider-Man. But don't be fooled by these sexy looking women, they can get downright brutal and nasty when it comes to killing. Some very graphic scenes are plentiful in this film.
Nora and Charlotte have a little taste

But Lena still does not want to kill, which becomes a problem for the group. On a nightly swim at a very nice observatory, they encounter two security guard which they dispatch. Nora kills one quickly and bloody while Charlotte rips a single page from the book she is reading and slices the other guard's throat cleanly. Name of the book..For Whom The Bell Tolls. Lena hauls ass out of their after that and soon the police track them down thanks to their hot "stolen" rides. Which leads to an exciting shoot-out with the SWAT team and Charlotte.
Detective Tom looking out of his league

After this melee, in which Nora is critically wounded, the other girls prepare to leave Berlin. But in one of the film's more touching scenes, Charlotte goes to see her child, who is now 90 years old in a nursing home. Her child was very young when Charlotte was turned and she has always had regret.
Nora being herself

The girls will have one more encounter with the police which will lead to a final and wicked fight scene between Louise and Lena, in which only one of them will survive. I loved this movie. A great vampire film that stays true to the myth while putting it's own spin on it. I like how Louise states that there used to be male vampires but they were stupid and arrogant. And the ones that were not killed by humans, the female vampires killed the rest. Leaving only their gender as the only vampires in the world.
Lena starting to feel the urge

I thought all four women were excellent. Each making their character very different from one another. Louise being torned between finding her true love and her constant need to control the others. Charlotte being the calm and sensible one, but also filled with regret. Nora full of sass and spunk and kind of wild. And of course Lena, who goes from troubled young girl to a girl thrust into a different new world.
That crazy Nora

The film makes great use of Berlin as the setting and is backed by some rocking music. It never bogs down and tells it's story at a nice crisp pace. If you want to see a great vampire film, then you have to see We Are The Night.
B+
The girls just hanging out

Notes:

Three of the actresses: Ulrich, Fischer and Herfurth all were born in Berlin. Hoss was born in Stuttgart.

The licence number of Nora's car is FU-CK 1.

The word "vampire" is not said once in the entire film.
